Foundation have had lots of fun decorating the Diva lamps they made last week for Diwali! #latcurriculum

This week the Foundation children will be learning about the Hindu festival of Diwali. Today we began our Diwali-themed week by reading the story of Rama and Sita. We talked about the morale of the story 'light triumphs over evil' and how this relates to our everyday actions and choices. Afterwards, we enjoyed making some Diva lamps from clay and we are excited decorate them later in the week. We had fun using our colourful numicon to create some Rangoli patters. We counted the holes in the numicon to make sure we had the correct pieces to match the template. #LATCurriculum

Year 2 have made a great start to the new term by learning what algorithms are and how to program digital devices. It was brilliant watching what we could make Steve do in Minecraft! #LATCurriculu

Year 6 spent two fun-filled days fully immersed in their DT project - making WW2 shelters. The children learnt how to saw safely and effectively and how to join using hot glue guns. They looked at different frame structures, considering which would be best for the purpose of their shelter and would also provide enough stability. Their final products were fantastic! Well done Year 6! #LATCurriculum

Foundation have had fun learning about Bonfire Night and making lovely chalk firework pictures. 

Year 3 are enjoying learning to play the glockenspiel. Amazingly today,  we were able to meet Mike Dixon - world famous Musical Director, Composer and Arranger. It's safe to say that he has inspired the next generation of composers!  #LATCurriculum
