SALISBURY ROAD PASTORAL TEAM

Our Pastoral team are always willing to meet with you to support you with any questions or concerns you may have. Their contact details are below or you can contact they via the school office.

Miss Christina Priestley – SENDCo

Hello, I am Miss Priestley the SENDCo (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator) here at Salisbury Road Primary School. I work within the pastoral team with Mrs O'Gorman, our Family Liaison Officer.

At Salisbury Road, our mission is to create a highly inclusive and stimulating learning environment in which ALL members of the school community can flourish and achieve their full potential. We are an inclusive school that embraces the uniqueness of every child and fosters achievement through high aspirations, supportive relationships and inclusive practice. We appreciate that the needs of each learner can vary and seek to support, develop and inspire our children regardless of their needs or perceived barriers.

We believe the most important factor in raising educational outcomes, whatever a young person’s needs, is through high quality classroom teaching. Due to the inclusive systems available to all students at Salisbury Road, most students with additional needs will not require specialist SEN provision and will be able to make progress whilst utilising whole school systems and practices. Parental co-operation and involvement in a child’s development is highly valued and considered essential in supporting children to realise their full potential. In my role as SENDCo, I seek to build positive and supportive relationships with families to ensure the needs of all children are understood and we can work in partnership to support children to thrive.

The documents in this section should help to answer any questions you may have about SEND at Salisbury Road Primary School. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me; I have an open-door policy and am always happy to provide an ear and support wherever possible.

Ms Esther Dallaway - FLO

Hello, my name is Esther Dallaway and I am the Family Liaison Officer (FLO) at Salisbury Road Primary School.

My role is to provide advice and support for parents and families. I work closely with parents on issues that may be impacting on their or their child’s well-being. I can offer support and advice on a wide range of issues and can signpost parents towards outside agencies if required.

Sometimes the stresses of life can be overwhelming for all of us, and you may feel that you just need to talk things through with someone. You may need help with social and emotional well-being, including friendship issues, grief and loss, parental separation, parenting, absence and lateness, behaviour and many other things.

You will usually find me in the playground at the beginning and end of the day or you can contact me in the following ways:

Mobile: 07760 819415 8am – 4pm

Email: esther.dallaway@salisburyroad.co.uk

School office: 01752 660566

I’m here to offer a supportive ear and a cuppa, so please get in touch if you need support or advice.

MRS RUTH GRANVILLE-WEST - SEND GOVERNOR

I am Ruth Granville-West and I was co-opted as a parent governor in July 2018. I am a mum of three children, all currently attending Salisbury Road Primary and I have a background in Primary School teaching. I believe that the staff at Salisbury Road Primary work extremely hard to ensure the children's learning and welfare are the best they can be and are always open to improvement. I am keen to work with and assist the staff at Salisbury Road Primary in maintaining this continual improvement.
