Early Years
Early Years at Salisbury Road
We believe children learn best through play in an environment that promotes creativity, curiosity and independence. Our ethos is to support children’s personal, social and emotional development so that they feel safe, secure, happy and ready to learn.
We recognise the importance of giving our children the best possible start to their education by planning and implementing teaching and learning opportunities that supports them in reaching their full potential and develop a love of learning. At Salisbury Road, we recognise the crucial role that Early Years education and educators have to play in providing firm foundations upon which the rest of a child’s education is successfully based, ensuring they are ready to move into Year 1.
Through the Early Years Curriculum, we provide children with a rich learning environment that builds on the children’s interests and develops their experiences of the world around them. We support the children in their transition into school and ensure that the start of the children’s learning journey is enjoyable for both the children and their families. We recognise that all children come into our setting with varied experiences and we work hard to provide equal learning opportunities to develop children’s understanding of the world around them and we have high expectations for all our children.
The Early Years team work closely with our local pre-school providers to support successful transition.
