  • Foundation - Snakes and Ladders Phonics

    Mon 01 Feb 2021
Foundation enjoyed playing giant snakes and ladders. Instead of dice we used our phonics green and red words. We had to read the word before we were allowed to turn it over to see how many spaces we could move. Well done to the children for doing some brilliant reading and taking turns so nicely.
  • Foundation - Planets

    Thu 28 Jan 2021
Foundation made all the planets in our solar system using paper mache. We paper mache balloons and then spent time painting each planet. We even made our moon.
  • Foundation - Looking at the Moon

Our Foundation children enjoyed learning about the moon today. We made some meteorites out of foil and dropped them into cornflour to investigate how the moon got so many craters. We looked at pictures of the moon and counted how many craters we could see. Well done!

  • Urgent Update

    Mon 04 Jan 2021

    Dear Parents,

I am very sorry to write to you at this very late stage. Many of you will have seen the announcement this evening that the government have decided to close all Primary schools with effect from tomorrow. Therefore, Salisbury Road WILL NOT be opening to pupils tomorrow.

With very little notice we now have to put into action our remote learning plan and provision for key workers. Unfortunately, at this time in the evening it is practically impossible to pull together a plan that allows us to do this from tomorrow. Therefore, a full remote learning curriculum will be provided for your children from WEDNESDAY 6th JANUARY.

The school will open for key worker and vulnerable children from Wednesday 6th January. If you believe you meet the key worker criteria, please fill in the key worker request form (on the link provided with the message you were sent). Alternatively, please contact the school office by 12pm tomorrow morning for us to consider your request. If you have any other way of providing childcare, you should not request a school place. We will confirm with you by 3pm tomorrow (Tuesday) whether we can grant your request.

Teachers will be providing live lessons from Wednesday and will be in touch with instructions for lessons tomorrow. In preparation, please make sure your child is able to log onto their Microsoft Teams account.

This is not how any of us wanted to start the new year and we very much hope that we can be back in school together soon.

If you have any specific questions please feel free to contact me directly at ciara.moran@learningat.uk or call the school office first thing tomorrow morning.

    Take care and stay safe!

  • Year 1- Puppets

    Mon 14 Dec 2020
Year 1 had a great day making puppets. Having read the story, Aliens Love Panta Claus, the children designed their own alien, complete with a Christmas hat and underpants! They then spent the day constructing their puppets using all the skills they had learned. They used templates, cut out carefully and used a variety of joining methods. The puppets looked amazing and the children had lots of fun - well done Year 1! 😊
