    In English, Year 1 have been learning about writing instructions and using bossy verbs. We have read and followed some instructions and identified the bossy verbs being used. We then read the story of Mr Magnolia and used what we had learnt to write some instructions for him. We had to remember to use a bossy verb to tell him what to do!

    As part of our Chinese New Year week Foundation have had a great day tasting different Chinese foods. We tried noodles, rice, crackers and vegetable spring rolls. 

    We also looked at China on the map and talked about the differences between China and England.

    Foundation have been learning all about Chinese New Year this week.

    Did you know it is the year of the tiger?

    We have had fun retelling the Chinese zodiac story, writing Chinese symbols, making paper lanterns and animals masks. We acted out the story in PE and we are looking forward to more Chinese New Year learning as the week progresses.

    A great day at the indoor rowing. A second place as well as a record for us today. What was more important was the team work, work rate and confidence to be their best. Well done rowing team 2022 you smashed it!

  • Year 4 - Dragon Eye Art

    For their recent art unit, Year 4 have used pencil and a range of different techniques to create a dragon eye. They used cross-hatching, pebble and blending to add depth and detail to their work. Fantastic work year 4!

    Year 3 had a fantastic time making their own volcanoes today! The children were fascinated when learning about what volcanoes are and why they erupt. The children will now use their knowledge of volcanoes to help them write historical stories linked to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius! Well done Year 3.

  • Year 2 Great Fire of London

    Year 2 have started their topic on the Great Fire of London by creating some pieces of artwork. They looked at paintings created by the artist Stephanie Peters who uses a silhouette effect. This approach inspired Year 2. Using the art skill of mixing colours, they created Great Fire of London silhouettes. Fantastic artwork, Year 2!
