We will be focusing on using capital letters, finger spaces, full stops and conjunctions - and, so, but.

The children have a busy term ahead full of lots of exciting learning and we look forward to sharing your child's learning with you this term!

The most important thing each child can do at home is reading. At an early age, this will mean sharing books with your child. When the children are independent readers, parents can still discuss the book your child is reading and help them with their comprehension and enjoyment of it. Please note down any reading you have done with your child or independent reading in their reading record book.
Reading books should be brought in everyday and children are asked to put their books in the reading tray when they need it to be changed. Books will be changed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
1LH have PE on Tuesday
1ME have PE on Tuesday
1RW have PE on Thursday
Please can you continue to make sure that your child has a P.E. kit in school every day as sometimes there may be a change to the timetable. Earrings should be removed on the day your child has PE.
The children will be given their homework on a Tuesday. It will be given to them in a homework book. The homework can be handed in at any time during the week, but must be given in by the following Monday. Please come and talk to us if the children are finding the homework hard or you need more clarification on the task.
The homework that will be issued will be a small task that should not last more than 20 minutes, but will be crucial to help embed the learning that we are doing within the class.
We also ask that you continue to listen to your child read and to help them practise their spellings as part of their homework.
If you have any questions concerning your child's homework, please speak to your child's class teacher.
This terms spellings will be given out on a Monday and they will be tested on their spellings every Friday. Please come and talk to us as soon as possible if the children are struggling with their spellings and we will help in any way we can.
