Previous weeks learning - w/b Monday 25th January 2021

Hello Everyone,

Please find the outline for this weeks expectations below. All of our activities and resources are saved in the resources folder at the bottom of the page.

Reading

Oracy and Writing

  • Daily Phonics sessions - click link (https://www.salisburyroad.co.uk/phonics-3/). Please see your Dojo message to ensure you start on the right videos.
  • Daily Reading - please read stories at home with your child. You can find lots of stories online. We have access to the Oxford Reading Owl. Use your log in to access a range of books that relate to your child’s phonic level.
  • Reading pack – we have given each child copies of 12 reading books. Please read 2 of these a week. Reading a book multiple times is the best way to help your child develop pace, fluency and expression.
  • Listen to your child’s class teacher reading a story online - link will be posted on dojo weekly.

Oracy:

Listen to the video of ‘Whatever Next’. Talk about the different things that Baby Bear took to the moon. What would you take to the moon? Use our sentence stem: ‘I would take … to the moon because…’ Look at the different objects available to choose from on the sheet. Choose only 5 objects to take in your backpack when you go to the moon. Think carefully about why the different objects would be important. What do you need to survive?

Writing:

  • You have been chosen to fly to the moon. Write a list of things that you would like to take to the moon. Use the steps to success to help you write your list.

Maths

Maths this week is focussing on numbers 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20. Please watch one video per day and complete the challenges. See the learning resources folder below for videos and activities.

  •
  • Spend 10 minutes, daily on Numbots

Complete at least one of these activities each week

EAD - When Baby Bear flew to space he saw lots of stars. Have a go at following the recipe to make your own star biscuits. Can you make any other space shapes?

BI – Make your own Alien mask. Engage in some role play. Stuck for ideas? Use the moon challenge cards to help inspire your play.
