Foundation Visits to the Kingfisher Ward June 2019
Our Foundation pupils and been visiting the Kingfisher Ward as part of an intergenerational project. Over the next few weeks the children will be spending their afternoons with the patients, reading, learning, playing, gardening and so much more!
The children and patients enjoyed a lunch together before starting their activities. One patient said it made him feel better having the children around as he misses his grandchildren.
Some of the activities they have enjoyed so far together include, painting, hand hygiene, mindfulness, making fruit kebabs and so much more! Most importantly, the forming of new unique friendships has been absolutely wonderful.
One patient who was going home said that the children had brought joy to her soul and that having them around is best therapy.
