Coronavirus Advice

The Learning Academies Trust has been closely following all communications issued from the Department for Education and the latest government advice regarding Coronavirus.

Please be assured that we are continuing to work with our premises teams to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness within our schools. We are promoting and actively encouraging the Public Health England guidelines with children, staff and all visitors.

Lunches

We are currently liaising with both our current catering company ‘CaterEd’ and the DFE re the details of the recently announced voucher scheme. Our current understanding of the new scheme is that it will be ‘term time only’ and will not be available until Tuesday 14th April. Once we have any more information on the scheme and how it might operate in our school(s), we will be back in touch, but in the meantime for the next 2 weeks our current ‘grab bag’ arrangements will continue.

As a result of the government stepping up measures and moving into the ‘delay’ stage, if your child has a new cough or high temperature (above 37.8 C), they would need to isolate for 7 days. In this instance, you should follow the government stay at home guidance and immediately inform the school.
Further guidance can be found on the government website or the NHS online.

The Department for Education continues to keep schools updated on the government’s response to Coronavirus and have launched a designated helpline to answer any questions you may have. Staff and parents can access this by:

Telephone: 0800046 8687

Opening hours: 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday)

Email: DfE.coronavirushelpline@education.gov.uk

In the event of a future school closure, we will be in contact again with specific information with about what this will mean for you.

If you have any questions or concerns please do get in touch.

We hope you all stay safe during what are quite extraordinary times.

If you are worried about the current situation you can get the latest updates from the Department for Education at COVID-19: guidance for educational settings.
