Our topic in the Spring term was Animals. We loved learning about animals from around the world and we read lots of non-fiction books to find out more information! From this we wrote our own animal fact books that we took home to show our families.
Our small world area was set up with lots of different habitats. We enjoyed looking at the different animals and choosing which habitat they were suited to. We also used magnifying glasses to help us look for mini beast in our outside area. Most importantly, we learnt how to be kind to animals and to never hurt them.
To finish our great animals topic we visited Dartmoor Zoo. We took part in a close encounters session where we got to hold and touch some small creatures including a snake, tortoise, snail and leafy stick-insect. We saw lots of bigger animals in their enclosures. We saw lions, tigers, cheetahs, meerkats, otters and much much more.
